Fruit Topped “GHOST Lifestyle” Protein Waffles

Hey Travel Fam! It’s no secret we love using Ghost Lifestyle, especially when it comes to making protein waffles! These waffles are the perfect breakfast item, post workout snack, breakfast for dinner, or a sweet dessert (just top it with Halo Top ice cream, and thank us later). This is the recipe that Shelby always uses, with just 6 simple ingredients. You’ll also need some cooking spray and a DASH mini waffle maker available on Target or Amazon. Ingredients: 

  • 1 1/2 scoops of ghost lifestyle protein (I usually do 1 scoop, but for these if you want fuller waffles, you’ll need more batter)
  • 1 banana (if you don’t like bananas or allergic, I believe you can try substituting apple sauce or pumpkin puree – I personally have not tried this yet, but if you do, let me know how it goes!)
  • 1 egg
  • optional: baking soda, 1 teaspoon 
  • Splash of almond milk or water works just fine 
  • few dashes of cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Mix it all in a bowl & make sure the banana is pretty much smashed *I find it easy if I smash it first with the egg and then add in everything else
  2. You should have a thick consistency, but not too thick. You just don’t want it to be super runny *If it’s too thick, add a splash of water until you get a good consistency (see my reel on our Instagram here for my little blueberry protein waffles)
  3. Spray both sides of DASH waffle maker and place in big spoonful of batter
  4. Once the DASH maker begins to rise, check your waffle to see if it’s a golden brown color, which indicates its done
  5. Use a fork to take it off the maker, or I just flip the DASH maker upside down, and it should fall right onto your plate! (You should get 3-4 nicely made waffles)
  6. Add your favorite fruits and syrup
